nice shot , no bright areas . I am curious since all the photos I work on , there has to be something about the photo that is talking to me . May I ask what her expression is trying to say to all of us so I know exactly what you as the photographer is trying to capture . Thanks , Tommy
When it comes to balancing the light, the white, and the color, this is Wallenda worthy!
Another beautiful image Thomas - well crafted in every respect!
Thank you very much for your kind words on this image's illumination... They are truly appreciated Tommy.
"...May I ask what her expression is trying to say..." I believe the thoughts of a very successful fashion photographer are appropriate and germane here Tommy...

They give it to you and you capture it." Peter Lindbergh
No direction was given nor was any needed... This accomplished ballerina speaks elegantly with her hands which which is the hallmark of ballet. There is no script in ballet, perhaps you might be better served viewing live Opera where musical script is far more important than the visual statement latent within. In Opera the script clearly speaks to the intended audience...
This ballerina is speaking to other females (the intended audience) in an effort to have them embrace her lifestyle... She is decidedly not speaking to gentlemen in a ladies Prêt-à-Porter fashion statement. Perhaps this may be why you are unable to find clarity with this visual statement. Just a thought...
As for Prêt-à-Porter fashion? It's marketed primarily via "Lifestyle" visual statements... Here the the overarching characteristic is that these "factory" collections are designed within the bounds of standardized sizing. The inference is that you also may look simply "Stunning" or "Chic" as the model who showcases them... Example of this for gentlemen would be Nike footwear model LeBron James...
From a Nike marketing piece.
"...Explore Your Potential In The Latest LeBron Basketball Gear" Hope this makes sense Tommy
For the ladies who might happen to view this fashion statement I would reference a marketing piece by BLOCH.
"...Ballet principal dancer Sasha Mukhamedov wearing her BLOCH Elegance Pointe Shoes"
Bottom Line? Like Irving Penn said... We are simply hired to "Sell Cloths"
raymondh thank you so much for your continued support... It is deeply appreciated!
And you are way too kind... This was certainly not a "High Wire" act but rather a methodical exercise i.e. "drill" with my "budget" Sekonic Flashmate L-308S incident light meter and my 8x11 inch X-rite Color Checker (2010 Edition). Without those simple tools this would have likely not have been possible or have taken forever to set up.
This Sekonic Flashmate is available in "Like New" Mint condition (Original Box) on ebay for approximately $200
https://www.ebay.com/i/353317518056 Again many thanks raymondh and kudos on your epic "84th Street Sliders" post September 28 in the Sports Shooters forum. Amazing pivotal moments superbly captured!
Thank you so much for your glowing compliments Bill... They are to be cherished...
Albeit it is the talent in this Prêt-à-Porter fashion image that deserves all the credit...
I only provided illumination and image capture, she did all the heavy lifting...
Love collaborating with ballerinas... they are truly masters of the stage...

Thanks , I understand where you are coming from now . Now , I think you have captured the moment perfectly
John I truly appreciate your continued support here...
Your very kind compliment is precious and means so much to me...
Especially coming from a retired educator...
All the best on your amazing journey John
Very, very nice Thomas. I am truly envious of your abilities, I tend to be more of an anvil and hammer sort myself so I enjoy imagining what it would take to reach a similar level as you demonstrate. thank you for posting
Thanks so much for your positive reinforcement Val... This encouragement is truly appreciated..
btw, Love! Blue's "Birthday" post... such an amazing puppy dog... so beautifully captured...
All the best Val...
Many thanks for your wonderful comments on my efforts gekko11... They are what keeps me going now...
As such I will continue to post in hopes that others might find merit in my team's efforts...
btw I am absolutely awestruck by your incredible capture of spacecraft Resilience catching up to ISS to dock...
Las Cruces NM has atmospheric conditions that I can only dream about here in Northern VA... simply surreal.
Thank you so much for a window into the heavens above...
Only on bitter arctic cold winter nights do we ever have crystal clear sky here...
Your efforts here allow me to realize that there must have been another world visible after sunset prior to electric lights... No wonder that the heaven's were charted so elegantly...
Again many thanks gekko11
