Look at Ken Rockwell's review of the D610. He has a photo of the label on the outside of the box. There should be a (U) after D610 if it's a USA model

Can someone tell me what the marking on the D610 box means when it's marked NIKON KR instead of NIKON US?
Thanks for the help.

That camera was made to be sold in Korea.
So here in the US it is Gray Market. Nikon USA will not work on it paid or otherwise. I understand they also will not sell parts to independent repair shops.
The Warranty card is probably for Nikon Korea. Yes or No? If so it means you have to ship it to Nikon Korea for work. Fees, shipping and maybe even import/export taxes.
Did you buy it new? If so did the price seem too good to be true? Remember if it seems too good to be true it probably isn't true.
But to settle this, instead of asking us to speculate etc. CALL NIKON USA, NOW!!! and give them the info on the camera Serial #, the warranty card etc, and have your receipt with purchase info - if Gray market they will be interested in who it is that is bringing in cameras without going through Nikon USA.
If they tell you it is Gray market and they won't work on it or supply parts - the next step is "Do you still have time to return the camera to the seller for a full refund?" If so, do so and buy a non-gray market version from someone else.
If you bought it used and it is gray market - well if you can return it it is up to you to decide to do so or not. I would. Otherwise you just hope it never needs anything but cleaning and adjusting. Because repairs with an independent shop would depend on being able to salvage parts from another camera.
Look at this if you want before calling - Nikon Inc. USA's site - they will not work on the camera as it states on this page.

Thank you for the very useful info. I purchased this camera unknowingly on e-bay. Was not aware of the foreign copy until today. Made purchase a month ago, so I'm screwed. I can only hope nothing goes wrong with it. My bad!

Repairs are either by yourself or through a repair company.
The price of a used 610 is headed for sub$600. Nikon USA repairs are often hundreds of dollars and, unlike the camera, NOT heading lower.
If the camera is trouble free for a few years, it will most likely be worth less than the cost to repair by the time it finally needs repair. Problem solved (statistically speaking).

If it plainly said it was a Korean sales model than you have no argument. But if it didn't say it was non-Nikon USA etc on the ebay site call them and see if they will do anything. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't.
In future check things out completely and if you have questions don't wait a month.
Also if you use "quote reply" we know exactly what you are replying to.
I shoot Canon but from my friends who have Nikon they have the same experiences I do, no repairs except for damage (I had a tripod go over once).
Keep the camera in good shape, have a local shop clean and adjust once in a while, be careful to avoid chances for damage and update firmware when they bring out new versions. It should give you a long time of good service. If it should need repairs the model is old enough an independent shop may have a damaged camera to get the needed part from. Well and there are a few large independent shops that import parts from other countries - it can get expensive but they can get parts that way.

I should have checked closer. This is the first time this has happened to me and I buy and sell all the time. Oh well!
thanks for all the help. Guess I'll try to up-date the firmware and keep this one.

Really? I read it at Nikon's website. I don't have to Google it.

He said about the part you said about Canon. Canon do not warranty gray market product but they do service them for a fee.

I talked to Nikon recently about warranty, I was told if you purchased from a Nikon authorized dealer in the US you would have no problems with warranty or repair.
These are the words of a Nikon representative not mine, suggest you call Nikon to answer your question.
This is contrary to what I was always told but things change especially during a worldwide pandemic so production and sales can continue.

What does this mean? Warrentee?
It means that if your camera needs serviced under warranty or afterward, you will have to send it to Korea Nikon. Nikon USA will not touch it. You bought a GRAY MARKET camera.
Nikon is currently willing to repair certain gray market cameras, but I don't have the list handy.
Your camera is a gray market or parallel import. It is the same camera that Nikon sends to this USA but the difference is in the warranty. As it has already been said, if there is something wrong with the camera in its first year after the sale Nikon will not repair it. Now that Nikon has limited its repair stations and supply of parts I do not know if any of them will offer to repair the camera.
Chances are the camera will perform to perfection but now you know that you do not have a US warranty.

If you live in the US you need the USA model. If anything goes wrong with the camera Nikon USA will not fix it unless it is a US model...even if you offer to pay for it.
I believe Canon has a similar policy.
Nikon along with other manufacturers do not have separate sites to produce different cameras fo different countries. The corporation Nikon USA will warranty only those that are sold in the US.
