I don't see that either Mike. Nothing but respect for Bob's input(helped me a few times), they look fine on my screen too.
Heal fast and trust your instincts on holiday skiing apparently...
Glad you got out to ski, hopefully you got a few good runs in before this mishap!
Rob
Thanks, Rob. It turns out that Bob was referring to all the snow and I was too slow to get the joke. I had finished for the day and was taking off my skis. In that this time of year is very crowded for relatively limited trails, I will probably wait for the New Year to go back.

Poor you in the wars again! Hope you heal well. Very good shots Mike, do you think Bob is referring to the snow?
Well, Sylvia, you were perceptive enough to get Bob's joke, but I missed it until he explained. Thanks for looking and, as you can see from the thumb photo I posted, I am only inconvenienced now.

The thumb is in a cast and my biggest issues is typing. Thanks, Stan.
Now you can learn to type with your other hand. When does the cast come off?

The temporary is to be replaced Wednesday and then they will determine the complete course.

I know, one of them put my left knee back together (LOL).
Well, Mike, I hope you are ok. Sure hope you can still take photos. There isn't anything to ski on down here except mud. And we don't have any hills or mountains, either. We find other ways to break our thumbs and legs, though.

I am great, Ken! Before moving out west, I managed to trash a few water skis. Just not too smart, but happy.
Your femur/Tibia Plateau break was gruesome. Not surprised at your recovery timeline.
In Dec 2010 I took our Golden Retriever out for an evening walk in a rare snow. He returned to me with a stick, slipped in wet snow at the last minute and slammed into my knee...tibia plateau fracture, bone graft, recovery, PT...pain in the backside....but have full use of knee/leg now, so all is good.
Stay safe, enjoy the skiing when the snow is right!

Wednesday morning at Alta, UT. Taken from the base of the Collins Lift about 8:30 AM.
I broke my rule about skiing during a holiday because I thought getting there early would avoid the crowded conditions. Stopped early and avoided the crowds, but ended up with a bloody nose and broken thumb. While taking off my skis, I was swept off my feet by a young lady (in a real way, unfortunately).
Nice shots Mike. Hope your thumb mends quickly
Very nice set Mike - hope you heal quickly!
Ouch, heal quickly my friend! We're still in the 80's down here.

I have read most ski areas will have a different setup. Change into ski boots in the parking lot. Hello mom, dad, and 3 kids. The cafeteria will be limited or nonexistent. The cruelest blow of all....They may not open the bar!!!!!!!
Yikes! Sorry to hear about your injury, Mike. Iām praying for a speedy and complete recovery. Even when a young lady sweeps you off your feet figuratively, you sometimes end up with a bloody nose. š
Nice photos, and too bad about the way you were swept off your feet.
