Thanks. ("Skelton").

I know it's Skelton boys.
I said I
related his name to skeleton...
not that I thought his name was "skeleton".
You and Longshadow read my post but failed
to digest/understand the written word it seems.
And I understood the difference between his surname
"Skelton" and "Skeleton" ie the bones of a chordate at the
age of seven years... which is plain, from reading my
previous post... to a literate individual...
Sheesh! You yanks should study "English" instead of "American"...
the rest of the world would then possibly be less inclined to ridicule
the USA for being so ignorant.

Red Skelton was far more talented than the majority of the bums Hollywood offers now.

Please don’t generalize a nation for a misinterpretation. I had mentioned in another thread how this pandemic and the next 9 years will be a decade that earns itself in the history books. However we need to be civil, considerate and respectable to each other. Only then will be is killed off this dreaded virus.
As for Red Skelton, he was quite the humanitarian.
We should all follow his example.

That is hysterical. In certain parts of this country it is called soda. Other places it is called pop. Then there are other places it is called a phosphate. Some places it is called a hot dog and other places it is called a frankfurter. Some places it is called a hero. Other places it is called a grinder and still other places it is called a sub. People use this as a geographical reference. I generally don’t mind because if I don’t understand, I can ask the other person what they meant.
I use to love the Red Skelton show, watched it every week when I was a youngster, he was always very funny.
Red Skelton is still one of my all time favorite comic entertainers. I always laughed a lot during his show.I can;t say that for many of the comics today.

A great comedian I remember watching, back in the '60's. Didn't he always end his show with a very sincere, "Good night and God bless you all" or something like that?
He did: “Good night and God Bless”

You're right... sorry. I know it takes all types,
and we should follow Red Skeltons good example.
My week has started badly on more than one front...
more falsehoods just pressed the wrong button.

Loved Red Skelton! Thank you for posting.
Sure that wasn't from Rodney Dangerfield? Those one-liners weren't Red Skelton's style. Growing up in Hollywood, I was able to go to Skelton's radio shows (among others) and got to know his persona. His comedy was always gentle, even when mocking drunks and seagulls.
Yes, I can hear him say this. He was great and you can see a lot of his stuff on youtube.
Those are funny. They sound more like Mr. "I don't no respect" though.
