Thanks everyone for your kind words regarding my Sandhill Crane Pic and also regarding the fire in our building. Everyone did get out o.k. Another reason to give thanks! :-) The 12 story building will need a lot of work to get the smell out of the halls but they are working on it. Could have been worse!

Be safe out there. I know this is a difficult time, especially for Thanksgiving! We went through this in Canada and did not have meals with family. Instead we communicated through Zoom and Skype. Not quite the same, for sure, but it is what it is. Always tell your family and friends that you love them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Bit of Thanksgiving Levity

THINGS TO DO THANKSGIVING DAY IF YOU WANT TO BE EXCUSED EARLY

~ Announce that you would like to start a new family tradition, and proceed to take off your shirt (males only), shoes and socks at the dinner table.

~ Open the oven, shove hunks of Velveeta into the turkey while it cooks. Tell mom it adds the coolest flavor.

~ Whenever someone at the table says a word beginning with the letter R, make a loud "BUZZ"ing noise.

~ Suck your cranberry sauce loudly through a straw.

~ Hold your nose while you eat.

~ Recite the tragic and abusive conditions known to exist at turkey farms.

~ At mid-meal turn to mom and say, "See Mom, I told you they wouldn't notice, you were worried for nothing."

~ Load your plate up high, then take it to the kitchen, toss it all in the blender, and take your "shake" back to the table.

~ When you arrive, promise that your date won't be more than an hour late, he/she just has to wait for the warden to get together all the necessary release forms, and then they are free to go.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I've been out of commission for over a week as Chuck has been transferring 20 years of photographs onto a new hard drive - so far it's taken more than 200 hours with several more still to go! It will be worth it in the end - see y'all on Sunday, hopefully! Until then, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks Sue You Too..

Very nice, Lesley! Well, to day is THE DAY! Going to cook up a storm for just the 2 of us! Feels very strange!

I'm grateful for the fact that our neighbor is stable in the hospital on a respirator, however. Lots of prayers for his recovery! He is his wife's caregiver! Their grown kids have been working together to cover her needs!
Wonderful to see the family work together! Now, that's something to be extremely Thankful for!
Hoping everyone has a great Special day -lots of tasty food!
