I’m surprised that there are no mentions of the significance of today in history. Maybe they will all show up tomorrow.

I’ve noticed that over the last few years. I remember.

Why the passive approach, John? Can't you start the conversation? 😇

Oh, JFK. I remember it but I was rather young. I remember Robert in 1968 more.

I was 18 at home in WI when the news came on. I will never forget that feeling and we all had to feel it again on 9-11.

As I am a young pup, I was only 3 years old. Looking back that was a very tumultuous decade for all. I don’t remember anything except my father (a history professor) explaining to me when I was older.

I was ready to take an English final at Ball State University (Ball State Teachers College at that time). Dr. Wetmore, the prof and department head, came in stated that the rumors we may have heard were true: the President is dead. He then handed out our final exams and told us we had two hours to complete it.

Just a bit on the cold side.

I was in a Psychology class when a brief announcement of the shooting came over the school's intercom system. I must've told the instructor I had a transistor radio out in my car, and was asked to go get it. The remainder of the day is pretty much a blur.

I too was in school at the time. Our teacher, Mrs Burns, after hearing the news from an aide to the principal had to step outside and recompose herself. We could see her tears and I remember feeling confused and uncertain about what it all meant. And the the days afterwards when the funeral parade was all that the tv had on it. Or watching little John-John at the Monument and seeing the photo of him at the Eternal flame. Some things are never forgotten.
