If, when you want to comment in response to someone else's comment, you will hit the 'Quote Reply' button it will include the comment to which you are responding and your comment will begin to make a little more sense to the rest of us, if that's an interest of yours.

At this late stage in life, and needing to look into a mirror on occasion, I seem to no longer find much intrinsic humor in being repulsed. Were I in your predicament, I would go to such great length as declaring bankruptcy if necessary in order to move. Hmmm... I wonder if that has anything to do with the houses on both sides of me being vacant.

The world is a fast paced place for sure and getting to be faster, seemingly, by the minute, and some of us are even resorting to the barbarian act of chopping our words down to only a couple of letters which often fails miserably to make sense, in an effort to save time, although not in this case, but perhaps we should all try to slow down some, enjoy life more causally, take some time for ourselves, and try to be a little more relaxed, perhaps even a little happier, have a little wine, maybe do a little reading. It's surprising what can occur if we just take the time to do simple things like that. For instance, had you taken the time to read the original post, you might have seen where amateur said "None of my other settings cause me a problem..."
Here's a simulator to help you understand exposure. You must understand exposure before you just fiddle with the dials on you camera. You wouldn't hop into a 747 and just fiddle with the knobs and dials and expect it to fly would you? Well the same applies with a camera - especially with a fine camera like a Canon 5D. Here's the simulator:

http://camerasim.com/camera-simulator/That's good solid thinking, jeep_daddy, something more like what I ought to be doing instead of the drivel I've tossed in this thread this morning. That said, I'm not sure I totally concur with your analogy. I think it was only yesterday afternoon that I observed a 5D2 flying around my neighborhood trying to catch images of other flying squirrels and I can almost assure you that the pilot of that thing was unknowledgeable, disoriented, had not been checked out on that bird, and had flunked his annual physical, and still it managed to stay airborne for a couple of hours. :-)
when you look through the few finder adjust the adjust the speed and apature untill the needle is is in the middle then you should be right hope this helps

Setting to Auto and seeing what the settings are is good advice. Even better is Rich's advice to "have a little wine, maybe do a little reading". i am now following that advice... on the wine part anyway.

You're eyes may have read on but I think your brain stopped at 'wine.' You seem to have the book upside down or something. :-)
