Hoping the doctor has answers other than take pain pills. When you sit does the pain subside? Do you write down what you want to say so you do not forget something? I often write a note and then scan the note before leaving the doctor.

That's a very good idea, I will certainly do that, otherwise, I start gibbering and it's then quite hard for them to take my problem seriously!!! Yes the pain does subside when I sit but I feel most comfortable if I can jam my back tightly up against the back of the chair. I found the support belt helped a bit but I have to take it off every time I sit because it is very rigid and gets uncomfortable. This is all stuff I can tell the doc of course, if I write it down!! I am beginning to wonder if I might be better off seeing an osteopath, we'll see what the doc says! xxxx

Happy Sunny Sunday. Sunny Surrey with rain and winds? I forget is a Christmas cake like a fruit cake? I will google it.

Yes, usually, very rich with fruit, nuts and alcohol in it. It's then traditional to stab it with a skewer and pour more alcohol into it on a weekly basis!! It is then covered in marzipan and iced and decorated, usually a snowy scene with Christmas trees and ski-ing penguins or suchlike!! I'm too lazy and I would just eat it all anyway! Now, mince pies are a different matter, I like those and will make many!!xxxx

Does your minceMEAT have any meat in it? That is another thing I have never eaten. Last week I ordered turnips with my groceries. I do not believe I every had them before. Raw tastes like kohlrabi to me. I threw one into the pot when I made soups. This week we will be having parsnips.

You are such a patient person. Well, maybe not a patient patient, but what can you do? Now with the lock down more appointments may be pushed back?

Quite probably, although the hospitals here are trying to segregate covid from non-covid the way the numbers are going up that might not be possible soon. xx

Here you go, this recipe says it all. I believe the tradition, back in the middle ages was to use the fruit and spices to make meat that may be past its sell-by date, so to speak, a little more palatable and that evolved into the mincemeat we use over here today. You can buy the pies ready made too, made with puff or shortcrust pastry!

Good afternoon girls, it's been 8C here, rained on and off and been very very windy. I haven't seen anyone today so I've nearly got my knitting needles out. But I haven't. I can feel the pull though. I've had a couple of texts from friends and family and I'm always pleased to get them. My friend Marilyn says that her husband won't go to church because of C19. He's been going up until now. He is a very nervous and there's nothing wrong with that. I think we all are to be fair. So if he feels better not going then stay home and pray and stay safe.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend no matter how the weather is. Luv yawl, so I'll catch you up

Happy HalloweenπŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

Jen and Lina have gone to have Halloween with their friends Laura and Andrew and their little Ellie.
It's just the 6 of them but they are doing it up right. Jen had a projector and screen and they are going to watch movies outside. She made a brownie dirt graveyard cake and jello with gummy worms and plastic spiders in it.

Omg......I love those sweets. My Albert would have eaten it all. Little lina throws herself into enjoying life. She's so cute in that moo cows costume

I know, what a sex pot he was. Even the latest photos of him shows he was still a looker. He maybe could have tempted me with Starbucks coffee

Yup, looks just like a fruit cake. Most fruit cakes I made in a loaf pan and others make them in a round pan. Then wrap them in a rum or brandy soaked cloth. Add a little alcohol in case there is not enough in the cake.
