A beautiful image of the Age of Innocence we felt just before COVID came to town.

Great photo I love the pose (I love candid shots) . Only thing I would do is darken (dodge) on her right side.... It works as is. Good job.

My thoughts!

I like it a lot! You got lucky with her charming expression, which accounts for most of the pleasure in seeing this portrait. You might try cropping it a bit. to center her head. There's a little too much darkness above her and to the left. Otherwise, just count your blessings.

I like the slightly off center and drama of the black background. I wouldn't alter anything. Lovely portrait of a beautiful girl.

From one grandpa to another

To me the eye is drawn to her face! Something they will cherish.

Certainly don't toss it. The black background is nice IMO. You could play with it some more and see if you can get it to your liking more. It is a cute expression, so if you don't have another chance at photographing her, I'd go with it. Christmas is two months away, so you're not on a critical path.

You should use the Lightroom for Samsung app... it will give you the option to save the dng files which you can then process in Photoshop or any other raw processing software. Stay well and keep up the great work.
