Nice shots. I also like that first one I just wish that ear tag was not there.

I agree. My PP skills are not as high as some. I tried to remove it and it just looked worse to me. I tried darkening it and the number jumped out. So I left it as shot.

Thanks Dennis. They are in a 546 acre county park. A few mile long road winds thru the park. Semi-wild or semi-tame,whichever you want to call them. They do hurt a few folks each year who try to get too close. Shot with a 100-400mm lens and some cropping on full frame camera. I doubt I could ever get anywhere close to a wild one to get these shots.

Dave, You may or may not be aware Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation located in Missoula, Montana publish a magazine each quarter called "Bugle" I was an executive there many years ago and they paid for pictures that were used in the magazine. A lot of the pictures are taken by independent photographers in Yellowstone. These are great pictures and they might want to use them in a future publication.

It's easily do-able. Rocky Mountain National Park has thousands of them. Early morning, walking slowly and quietly and stopping often, as far off the paved roads as possible. You would be surprised what you might come up with. 400mm is plenty. Very much worth it in my opinion. Not that there is anything wrong with your photos. They are very nice, despite the ear tag.
