Yes 😁

I first looked at 500px.com after Nightski mentioned having joined several years ago. There's been no subtlety on that site for at least five years: https://500px.com/editors

Whether it's true or not, there's a perceived need to compete for attention. Subtlety isn't mainstream any more .

Yes, for me it is a vice ( I'll assume you meant nice, so - thanks).

Nice. A lot of feeling - it is cool but also peaceful.

Thanks Ed. That was my intention so I can consider it a success.

I really like this photo. Having lived there for a few years, it takes me back to the "feeling" of Scotland. Not so much loneliness, but a feeling of aloneness, and of course the overcast skies & the mist.

And this isn't even Skye or the Hebrides. Is it anywhere near Montrose? It reminds me of there.
I'm surprised the beach looks so wet up so far from the waterline.

BTW, I don't see any wind turbines, just electric or telephone lines & poles.

Glad you liked, KT. It's part of the Moray Firth coast which is part of the east coast but further north than Montrose. I suppose the beach is wet because it's so flat and the tide will go out quickly because of that. On closer inspection they are what we would call telegraph poles (even when it's power lines ), but I did take out two wind turbines. Thanks for your comments.

I understand why you wanted to include that nice sky. Reducing the amount of sky to just above the horizon would have made this a really interesting minimalist composition. As shot, I find myself alternating my attention between the moody sky and the very calm beach. I'm not sure which I should be paying more attention to.

I hope you gravitated towards whatever part you found most engaging. I could have done away with everything except the walker and some beach, but that would have been a totally different photo. As it is I'm pleased with the way it came out. The foreground, mid ground and background fit together nicely and to good effect. But as you note, there were other possibilities.
