Are these safe for my lenses?

Me too. For years with no problems. I received a used 16-35mm Nikon lens yesterday from KEH... I wiped both ends with a Zeiss lens cleaner. The company has a history of-making glass with a variety of different specifications. I believe they know what they are doing.
