Went to pick up my truck at the garage - two herds the first outbound at a distance, the second on the return, relatively close to the road. D7200 AF S Nikkor 200-500 5.6 E ED

Really?? Then what are they? Seems I have been misinformed my whole life. They bed down in my back yard and the DoW calls them antelopes. We need to get the DoW informed that they are wrong.

Thanks. Technically correct - colloquially in the West, not so much. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pronghorn

Thanks! These were totally calm - had to whistle to get them to look at me.

Great pictures - it's tough to get close to them for photo ops...

Good set of pictures! Fresh cut hay makes a great backdrop. Where I have lived for the last forty years, these (Pronghorns) antelope have been referred to as "Speed Goats"!

In a field of freshly hewn hay? Those are some mighty pampered pronghorns you've got up there in Montanistan.

Down here in Ootah, I'd need a 1000mm lens or longer to get as good shot. And when I do see them, there sure isn't any reason to whistle. They know I'm around a lot sooner than I know they're around, and in those instances where they don't bolt, there's always a buck --like the one in your last shot-- who's none too shy about checking me out.

Good stuff, quix.
