What a lovely church building! And so well photographed. You mentioned the stained glass but did not show us any. Pity. Maybe next time? Would love to see the interior.

Beautifully done, Jim. Love the framing through the trees. Would love to see some interior shots, the stained glass windows look magnificent. Thanks for sharing the family connection.

Looks like it all came together for these shots Jim. Blue sky, fluffy clouds and beautiful light on the church.

Thank you very much David.Glad you liked them and maybe I can when this virus thing disappears. The church will only let a certain amount of people in the church so it could be a little while before I can go in with the camera.

Thank you very much Joe.Glad you liked them and as I explained to David only a certain amount of people are allowed in the church at the moment ,even for funerals and weddings so hopefully I can in there when all this pandemic is over.

Nice images of a lovely building. I actually prefer the second image, as it gives more of the setting and frames the building more. I would love to see pictures of the interior.

......... An unusual red Brick Church
This church is well known to the people of St.Helens as it is made from substantial red brick and sits in a prominent position just outside of the Town Centre. There is some good stained glass within and the altar is an unusually carved wooden modern example. The Church was originally founded in 1839 and the building suffered badly from a fire in 1960. The Re-Build of the roof and some of the interior did a good job and you would not be able to tell that the fire had occurred. There are also some interesting wall plaques to see and the interior space looks a lot bigger on the inside.
Both Rosemarie and nyself have some family history with this church,my Great Granddfather and Great grandmother where married in this church and their Son my Granddfather and Grandmother where also married here. Mrs A's parents where also married in this church as well and Mrs A was chistened there as well.Guess what, the church is also our next door neighbour as well.Something i did'nt know until i started to do my families history.
