Excellent, Jim! I just did Alpine Loop and the colors are about the same. I may check the Cottonwoods next week.

On a whim, we did Alpine Loop this past Wednesday afternoon and it was almost impossible to find a spot to pullover. I'm on a four year cycle...it takes me four years to forget that I said I would never go there again. Gonna change that to a 10 year cycle!! Hoping to get out again next week, may be back to Nebo...or over Guardsman Pass if it is open!

This Loop drive is 38 miles one way. It is a beautiful drive over a 9,000 ft. pass so I did it both ways for different views of the terrific scenery. The muzzle loading deer and elk season is on so there were quite a few hunt camps and hunters out. Quaking Aspen were just starting to turn so not much yellow and gold colors but lots of red and orange colors from maples and oaks.

Great set of images Jim
Nice looking Mule in the last image.

Really nice pictures. I found when shooting fall colour, that my favorite pictures were ones with lots of green and just a touch of reds and yellows. These are really nice.

Love the reds. Hope to head to Utah shortly - as soon as we close up here. Look forward to the time in your state.

Thank you, Sylvias. In good years, the colors found here would knock you over with their abundance...still waiting out the damn draughts!!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Frank...I knew the man from Missouri would know a good mule!! Actually had two more that had been trailered before I stopped talking with the hunters and took a few photos. I've hunted off mules in Wyoming and man are they good in steep country...obstinate at times, but good!!

Interesting observation on colors, APL...when first looking at these photos on the computer I thought thank God for the somewhat vibrant greens!! Other colors can't always be counted on. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, always nice to hear from you!!
