Very impressive church and structural members. We were in Edinburgh last year, but missed this beautiful cathedral because it was not on our tour schedule. Thanks for posting.
Yeah, that was my thought upon entering, too. Don't miss Part 2--the windows are exquisite!

Thanks for commenting. You're welcome. Our tour was a special one for the choir, and we sang a concert in that cathedral.
Wow,thanks thoroughly enjoyed....
Daryl, thanks for your comments, and welcome to UHH!
NMGal, the acoustics were quite nice--not as reverberant as some European cathedrals (or NYC's St. John the Divine), but certainly adequate.

Thanks, DJ.
I discovered a later photo that I should have included in the "Structure" section:

Beautiful. I'm amazed at the intricate stonework in many European cathedrals and castles. Of course it took longer to build some of them than the U.S. has been around, and the cost to duplicate the work would be unimaginable, assuming you could find enough artisans to do it. Of course now it would be done much quicker and less expensive using CNC stone machining/carving.
It is incredible how fantastic those old churches are. It was the work of fanatics who did it, often over several generations.
Excellent set, David! I enjoyed the interior set as well.

Thanks, Mike. I split that topic into 2 sets because there were just so many photos I wanted to include.
David, your photos of these edifices are stunning, and you’ve done it again. Nice narrative, too.
