I am amazed that anyone can blame the housing crisis on any entity but the banks and wall street. I guess the problems of this country will never be solved what with all the finger pointing. But finger pointing is, of course, what the people with their hands in our pockets want us to do. That way, we won't notice as they steal our money.

The facts are there for all to see and learn. Facts are that if the loans would have been good loans this housing bouble would not have happened.

You are stating an opinion you can not prove. there is plenty of blame to go around in this but the fact are that the banks where forced to make loans to people who could not hope to complete the loans. Forced is the operative word here, by the democratic congress.

The money is gone, evaporated. Yes many people who worked in the housing industry should have gone to jail. The realstate agents, appriasers that lied on the forms so they could get more loans written to people who could never pay the loan off. The banks had to prove they where compling with congressional mandates.

"Lack of credit history should not be seen as a negative factor," the Fed's guidelines instructed. Lenders were directed to accept welfare payments and unemployment benefits as "valid income sources" to qualify for a mortgage. Failure to comply could mean a lawsuit.
