Actually Ronnie, it looks fantastic.
I know what a struggle it has been for you, and I remember how much you helped me with going remote.
You have made great strides!

Faced with the abominable weather there, you've persevered.
But we all face weather challenges. (Well, not me.... I just face heat waves, and Brush Fire Seasons) Winter here is 1 to 3 days when it might get down to freezing. (Real freezing, not this "60 degrees! It's freezing!" type of freezing)

But like they say in Real Estate, it's Location, Location, Location!

When I was growing up in the 1950's it was pretty nice here.
Then the faces began to change, and people with foreign accents began migrating here.
My Dad said they were coming from New York. (Leaving out his derogatory terms.)
Nothing wrong with Cali, it just needs the non-natives purged. Fat chance of that....

But like Real Estate, it's Location, Location, Location...
I'd like to relocate to Lake Powell. But there's a better chance of getting the non-natives out, than of me uprooting Grandma.

The weather will be what the weather will be.
Can't change that.

Nice shot. What software are you going to use to make the mosaic. I plan to eventually try some astro mosaic images also. I have used the freeware program "Hugin" from SourceForge.net to successfully stitch some regular photos together to create a panoramic image, but haven't tried it yet on an astro images.
Here is the result of using Hugin on the Sierra Buttes.

Great capture! I like it.

No Hurricanes here in CA, but we do have fires -- Lots of Fires.

The one near me is called the SCU Fire (Santa Clara Unit) which was started by lightning. I have had a front row seat for this one for weeks now. This fire is in 5 counties and has burned close to 400,000 acres.

Here is a view that I have gotten used to seeing. Three plumes of smoke from active fires. Another to the right not seen from this location. This was shot using a 720nm filter which cut through the haze and showed the dense smoke behind the haze. Impossible to determine how far away this fire was. It may be 10 miles away. Or it may be 2 miles away. I can't tell.

Sonny , I've got 2 homes back in the woods next to the Norfolk Southern line and not too much out of them be except for that damn Salsa music they Blast when I'm trying to concentrate . When cinco de mayo comes around they go absolutely crazy singing and getting hammered. Good thing is I don't ever see them . Yall no wildfires tis Summer and haven't had any hurricane damage at my house but, my neighbor had a huge limb from one of those 5 darn Oaks fall on his house{ took a week to cut it off the house} , I only have a Dogwood in my front yard . Yea for me! I use Sequence generator pro to do my long exposures Ballard . I've been using it for several years now and it does a good job as long as I set up my sequence during the early evening. JimH , I hope things clear for you soon.

Yep, can't do much about the neighbors you get. Except to out-nice them. And to apply ear plugs. But if you do that, then folks can sneak up on you and make you poop your pants.
Oak trees are self pruning. And if they drop a limb, you best be somewhere far away. Those branches can weigh literally tons. The USFS (U.S. Forest Service) rates a cord of Oak at something around 5600 pounds.
But Oaks can just go snap and drop a big hunk. Because it is hard, dense, wood. (I've been compared to it.)

HA HA HA THAT'S FUNNY Sonny, a branch as big a a large Maple tree with 3 more offshoots as big as Pines. 40 feet of terror when it broke , I heard it inside my bedroom with the flatscreen on when we were getting hit with 55mph winds from the Hurricane . Down here we have over 100 yr. old Oak trees everywhere . It's the other trees that get uprooted when we get rain day after day.
