Tried an app on my iPad, Midi Designer, which allowed me to create a midi controller on my iPad. Using a plugin for Lightroom, Midi2lr, I am able to control sliders in Lightroom to make adjustments to images.
The system does work well. Initially I wanted access to every slider/adjustment that Lightroom offers, so I built a controller that had enough sliders, buttons and knobs to cover everything - that resulted in either tiny knobs filling the page, or 6 pages of sliders, buttons and knobs - making it a little complex to use.
Original post and programming here :
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-504169-1.htmlI have since reprogrammed an iPad controller to handle basic adjustments and kept things to one page of controls.
The system connects via Bluetooth and the sliders and dials change as images are displayed, it is then possible to edit by changing the sliders or knobs on the iPad - changes happen in real time.
I am considering a dedicated midi device, the Behringer X Touch mini for use if I see this works out with my iPad, as I think a dedicated console might work out better.
Donald, that is pretty cool. An ergonomic nightmare perhaps but definitely an interesting concept.

I think that’s where an X touch mini would help
It’s actually pretty cool to sit back and be able to use the iPad sliders to edit the image on screen
Read your title and thought you had a way to let images create their own music. Now I’m really disappointed:-(
EDIT: I’m not alone in reading it that way. After pressing “Send” and returning to your thread, the ubiquitous pop-up ads changed to Casio midi music keyboards !

I see your point! Sorry about that!
What does Midi stand for? In my world it is Musical Instrument Digital Interface.

Yes, that is it. The Mid2Lr plugin allows mapping midi commands to Lightroom functions, basically a slider or rotary encoder on a midi console can change slider settings in Lightroom for control of editing.
