Fantastic capture! I’ve only photographed one before, finally got him flying! I had scoped him out for months! Great shots!

Thank you very much, phv. I appreciate it. How do the BIF ones look?

Very nice. Thought I'd photographed one a few weeks ago here in N. GA. Closer inspection of the photos and birding sources showed I had photographed a Lesser Bittern. My first.

Thanks. The lesser Bittern is even harder to catch. They are my wife's new favorite bird. We have recently photographed several of them here in Florida. Beautiful little guys!

These are rarely seen because they blend in so well with their environment. But they are beautiful when you do see them.

I've only seen one at LAWD, but that was before I owned a camera. Now that I have one, I can't find a bittern anywhere. You got a couple of valuable shots.

Isn't that the way it goes? We were there today and didn't see one. And we were looking! We have actually seen more Least Bitterns there than American Bitterns. We only saw a fleeting glimpse of one Least Bittern today. But we do have several photos of both types from different days, mostly from LAWD. I'm glad you liked my photos.

Yep, great light and, I admit, I added a little color saturation. I wanted to high-light the beautiful patterns in a somewhat drab, secretive, bird. Maybe over-did it a bit?
