This is a collection of old buildings I found on my recent trip to the Palouse region of Washington. I had been told there were some nice old barns in that area, but frankly I found most of these just gallavanting along the 2-lane roads! Enjoy.
As always, your comments are welcome.
Found this along some unnumbered highway in Nevada.

Butch Cassidy's family home. They lived here for about 5 years during his teenage period. It was here he learned to be a cattle rustler.

Very nice set, Kathy. We saw Butch Cassidy's place but missed the others.
Fine shots and selection. How many are "Rain Follows the Plow" Homesteads? Broken dreams!
You had a great trip and I liked the B&B's you frequent!!
That stone house is amazing. You wonder where, in that desert, they got enough timber to build even the roof. Thanks for sharing.

Now that I don't know. I honestly think most of those in the Palouse are just the result of moving to a newer place.

Many times, they shipped it in by rail. The equivalent to Amazon / UPS was Sears Roebuck and Company / Railroad. You could even order entire houses ready for assembly, though those went to more settled areas.

I don't know, but there was a ranch house on down the lane. Indigenous people who built Chaco carried timbers for miles.

None of these were Sears kits, I'm sure. There are riparian areas occasionally.
