There is another thread here on UHH with a similar discussion taking place. Some are expressing dislike of the images/style and expressing that opinion strongly. What we could use in todays’ culture is a little more tolerance and respect for each other’s opinions. But that is our culture today. And Art imitates life.

I posted this on the other thread I will post it here:

The definition of good Art is subjective as is shown by the diverse (and strong) opinions expressed here.

Viva la differences! Life would be boring otherwise.

Yes art does that sometimes.

And this stuff is SOMEHOW photographic ART? Not really. Art is in the eye of the beholder, but you and Timmers are the “jaundiced Eyes of this forum! Again” IN MY VERY humble OPINION”. RJM

Wow Digit-up, one post/image that you don't feel comfortable with, for whatever reason, out of a multitude posted and you feel the need to post that drivel? In fact it was so upsetting to you that you had to say it twice? It is interesting that often with some level of people there always seems to be a connection between liking the art and therefore the artist or not liking the art and therefor the need to malign the artist's skills. Is it the mere fact of you liking an image the path one needs to take to rise above being a "marginal photographer? Is that my aspiration? I am so happy I don't see the world the way you do. But the range of responses on this board does run the gamut which does keep it interesting I suppose, or at least entertaining.

Thank you for sharing your opinion with me. I just did the same myself. Good luck convincing yourself that your stuff is solid art!!!??? #%€#%~~. Rjm

The Jaundiced Eyes of this Forum...Again? Colorful. Could you, if you could take the time, list, outside of this post the top 5 images (since you said Again, it must happen fairly regularly) I have posted that would contribute to that conclusion so that I can learn and improve? Luckily for me I don't have to convince myself my work is solid art, I personally don't have the lofty ambition to self-declare myself anything (although I do wonder if you self-declare your works solid art.) I have a hobby that I enjoy, so I do it. Playing pick up ball on the weekend as a hobby doesn't make me think I am a pro-ball player. I have no idea who you are, but I looked at a few pages of your previous posts and about 25-30% of them all have a negative vibe to them. Not artistically critical, but personally negative on some level. So either a huge number of people posting to this site are terrible people that somehow deserve that response from you, or just maybe there is something in you, as the majority of the people here don't seem to have that proclivity to attack others on a regular basis. I will dedicate the appropriate time to contemplating which it is. Although I would be curious when in the process of these images I went so far off the rails. Was it when the model asked for those images (or does that make her a bad person?) Was it when I agreed to take them and set them up? Was it when I took them that I became bad, or when I gave them to the model and she liked them. Or was is when I posted them here that I went Jaundiced? Clearly during one or multiple of those steps I crossed an artistic line apparently.

This is a sign of modern times and modern times may be far worse than these superb photos.

If I had been the only one with a NEGATIVE opinion of your offerings( plural) I would consider your rant about MY negativity as possibly accurate. Get a life of your own..........RJM

Three rants, two after promising to ignore me, and yet still not one of my questions answered...OK, I think that was to be expected so not surprised as I suppose details are just a pesky thing that can get in the way of a rant or three. Honestly, I understand that I will never change your mind nor do I have any interest in doing so, but I, for some reason, honestly do wonder, outside of this post, what are the repetitive, multiple posts I have made that you find so distressing as to be so disparaging of them and all my posting and my very existence on this forum. I know you will not answer that, and I know it is my issue for even asking the question, but I will leave it hanging out there. Is there some level of internal positive reaction you obtain for yourself by acting this way but offering no critical insights that would help others understand the path you took to reach such a conclusion? What a fascinating, yet ultimately sad way to think and live.
