if its grey will have different charger and battery. I had some issues with after market batteries shooting eclipse so I spend the extra dollars and get canon battery.
I'm not a fan of ebay with private sellers.

I have a Canon I bought used from a guy from Germany it uses the same battery and everything as the US model, it just has a different model number on the body.

Why would Canon go to the trouble of making the same camera with two different batteries, one for the US/Canada and one for everyone else. I also had a used Sigma SD14 from ebay as a second body that the manual was in Russian - everything interchanged with my US sold model.

Now a gray market camera may come with third party battery so they can sell the Canon battery to someone else. That way they would make about $40 or so more. But the third party batteries will fit and work in either a US import or a gray market of the same model. I use Wasabi batteries and several years ago they started making them with clones of Canon chips so they charged in either wasabi or canon chargers and the other way around.

As mentioned previously, the SL2 is cheaper and you do not give up much performance. If you can afford it, I would pass on the Canon kit lenses and get the Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 instead.....or the Canon 18-135 (latest).
.

The Canon 18-135mm is worth the $$

when I was photographing the solar eclipse I knew at some point I needed a battety change. The camera was mounted on a telescope mount to track the sun. I had to change battery w/o moving the scope. my after market battery, Wasabi, was just a little bit bigger and took a lot of effort to get it out. Also in trial runs didnt last as long. Bought a canon battery and problem went away. Thousands of dollars of equiptment so wasn't going to ruin whole thing due to an extra $30 for different battery. It was $500 in shipping the equiptment.

Within Canon crop series DSLRs:
The T series cameras are "Rebel" models which are entry level. Those without the i designation are stripped for bargain pricing.
The 70, 80, and 90D are enthusiast level, which is better in several ways.
The 77D is between those 2 levels.
The 7D and 7DII are fast repeating models better for sports and other fast changing scenes and are better weather sealed.

The 77D with 18-135 USM is on sale which ends tonight, Aug 2, at 11:59 pm EDT for $799

Don't forget the 7DII has dual processors - one dedicated to the AF.
Your also forgot the T6s which was the "better rebel" before the 77D.
