Good work on these.

They came a little earlier than usual. Even the little buddy showed up after a while. Strange he is much more wary and nervous than the big one. While it is hard to tell from the images, he is massive in the body. The smaller one is no slough but looks small when the are together.

Excellent photos of both bucks. On download the bigger buck has some interesting pedicles, the growth at the bottom of the antlers what will bear some more photography as the antlers continue forming. Most pedicles just remain small and go around the base of the antler but these in the picture may grow into making the deer a truly non typical buck with regard to antlers having an abnormal number of points and/or points not normally seen in a mature deer.

Please keep up with the photos as you may have a really truly great buck there regarding antlers growth.

Beautifully done. The darker background is extremely effective. (Tonal bokeh?)

Nope. I did use a slight vignette but only slight. They are in my yard and in the open. The background is in the woods or under trees. While somewhat earlier it is still overcast and nearing night which accentuates the effect. It is the same with my bird images. I try for late evening or overcast days and use strobes for the foreground. Birds don't mind flash, deer really get upset.
