I tried keeping in mind the tips from John, earlier. Made this this morning. I can't remember the blending modes...but I tried different ones plus color tweaks.

P6 Much better Pat liking the results here

p.5 Isn't that sweet - and you're so clever.

It’s so much fun to go out early in the morning to find them. And this topic was such a good opportunity to slip them in! Thank you for your comment, Pat.

If your camera doesn't have an "in camera" multi exposure feature, just take several shots different exposures and different angles of the same thing and then try working them together in post. A warning - it can get addictive.

This challenge has made me think. It's the kind I can't dip into archives for, necessarily. I'll post this one for tomorrow as I won't be around till much later in the day. While working on one project, I put together this double exposure - a lobster boat on a background of a pile of nautical ropes. This was a vivid blending mode and I don't have the 2 original shots to post along with it.

Thanks, Larry for hosting a Free Challenge Weekend. If you were looking for "Yard Birds" with Sunnybuck, it was necessary to switch challenge calendar dates; "Yard Birds" will appear for week of 7/27-7/31.

In my film days a multiple or double exposure was something you didn't want to see. Now there are multiple ways to create them purposefully and artistically in camera or in post. Smart phones have a number of apps to accomplish the same thing.

This article has some excellent examples, tips and images: https://digital-photography-school.com/multiple-exposures-camera/

I'll start off with a few images taken using the multiple exposure feature in my camera. And 2 images fused in my smart phone. The challenge is finding shots that will merge well together. In future posts, I'll show some created in post (layering, really) and how I used them.
Thanks, Larry for hosting a Free Challenge Weekend... (show quote)

Great lead in and Info Pat, and Thanks for all you do!

Great images, Pat! Unfortunately, my Canon EOS60D doesn't do "in camera" doubles, so I'll have to rely on Photoshop, but I did want to say, as a former wedding photographer (many, many, many years ago), it was so much easier to do doubles on film, and clients would pay extra for well executed ones. I wish I had some of those, but the only "in camera" double I have is one I've posted many times before, so I hope you don't mind.

Tim

Loved it when I first saw it and still do..

One of my specialties is multiple images of flowers - I use one for my avatar. The first three were multiple exposures in the camera on film, scanned and enhanced in Photoshop. The rest are digital captures combined on layers in Photoshop. I find with flowers, combining them in Lighten mode works well as it brings the lightest parts of each layer forward.

Beauties John.

Another way I do it is to say photograph a single flower
then in Photoshop layer it as many times as I require
Depending on what I am trying to achieve
Like in this example

page #6 explains a lot not
