Well, I thought I'd seen just about everything, then I encountered this sculpture of Minnie Pearl made from Chicken Wire. I guess it's appropriate. She was an old country girl after all and liked a good joke. My hat is off to the artist. This has to be a very difficult medium to work with and he did an excellent job.

James, you're correct in that is quite an accomplishment. It's also a wonderful tribute to someone who brought us some smiles and laughs. We could use a bit more of that as of late.

Some liberal will find a reason to deface it or tear it down.

Although I agree with you, I sincerely wish we could get back to appreciating art and, especially, photographic art without getting politics involved.

I've seen that topic sneaking into a number of the comments on art related categories. The Attic is, well, the attic. We all know what goes on in there. It's just that it's beginning to creep into the other areas as well.

Thanks for sharing this. Nice shot. As for chicken wire sculpture, the Tower of London has a number of beautiful chicken wire sculptures of wild animals: a pride of lions, an African elephant, and several others.

You are right, Bob. I should have just commented on the image and the sculpture. I get carried away sometimes.

I think we all do. Most of us are artists and that leads to some emotional involvement with our work and our lives. Just so you know, I had the same reaction when I first saw the sculpture.

First thing I checked too.

Great sculpture and nice image. But the sharp background distracts. Larger fstop to blur background or come back at night and light sculpture.
