When I get the urge to go buy a large format printer, I pick out a photo and send it to Walgreen's, and have a 11 x 19 or 18 x 24 print made. That satisfies my urge. I did try Ritz once, but was not happy with the result.
I always wait until Walgreen's has a special, usually 50 or 60% off. There is a lot of satisfaction in picking up the print 2 or 3 hours later.

occasionally i get a winner that i want enlarged that i will have professionally framed ($$). i used to send said pics to apple; now i am asking for references for labs that i can send from my computer that will EASILY evaluate and print for me and return usps.

Bay Photo is great! I use them first. However, if the photo is a portrait of someone I use MPIX, as I feel their skin tones are better.

Sam's and Walmart do more than passible work.
Do it in person.

I am a Costco member. I was at the store a month ago and found that my store had closed the photo department. One of the employees told me that some but not all of the stores closed the photo department. Call before you go.
