i will print photos of mine that i appreciate from home on my epson in 8x10 for perusal and judgement.
occasionally i get a winner that i want enlarged that i will have professionally framed ($$). i used to send said pics to apple; now i am asking for references for labs that i can send from my computer that will EASILY evaluate and print for me and return usps.
im not a professional, but do appreciate my work on my walls.

COSTCO if you are a member.
I like Bay photo, very high quality and quick return. Order online or with a downloadable app. They ask for 8 bit jpeg or tiff, Adobe rgb or srgb, but I think they will convert whatever you send. No need to resize or resample, they will take care of that. You can crop when you order if desired. Mats and frames available.

I am a Costco member. I was at the store a month ago and found that my store had closed the photo department. One of the employees told me that some but not all of the stores closed the photo department. Call before you go.
Either White House Custom Color or Bay Photo should work well for you.

Bay photo is probably the “suto” industry standard. There is also Black River imaging, White House and a few others.
If you want to see which one works best for you send each an 8x10 of the same file.
M Pix is my choice. Excellent job and customer service.
Bay Photo is my "GOTO" (heh) printer when I can't do it myself.
I print most of my own up to 13x19 but from my experience I wouldn't try Shutterfly
From reading reviews and from my own experiences, mpix.com is at the top of my list followed by whcc.com, but their website is a not as easy to use, followed by ProDpi.com, followed by BayPhoto.com, followed by HHColorlab.com. Ones to avoid (I'm sure I'll get grief for this) GG Pro Prints, Adorama Pix, Walmart, Shutterfly.
I also use fractureme.com for prints on glass. They put the color layers on the back of the glass first, then a white coating. I really like the look of printing on glass, but they are not as bright as printing on the front of other materials.

Another vote for Bay. If you have a calibrated workflow (calibrate your monitor and soft proof), you can download their ICC profile and ROES ap and save substantially on their printing by not having them do color correction for you.
I like Artbeat Studio in Orange County, CA. They offer a wide variety of options and their metal prints are outstanding.
"Printique" at Adorama in New York. Excellent quality, service and price.
