Cell Phone Challenge

The weekly challenge from my camera club this week is cell phone photos. This was created with just the original photo (with some basic processing) a texture layer and some hue adjustments. I used the Darker Color blend mode on the texture layer to create the effect of merging the two layers. It was the curve and shape of the leaves that originally caught my eye.

Do you think this works as an abstract photo or would you just consider it something you would use as a texture or background layer?

I think they are both quite nice, Keni.

Rotating the pov was a great idea IMO because now it looks like peeling paint! I like it very much, Keni.

I appreciate Bob. I tried going just black and white with the original but it was just flat. I couldn't get it where I wanted it.

Thanks Linda. I made me think of peeling paint as well. There is something to be said about just going through the blend modes one at a time to see how the affect your photo. With some of them you never know how its going to come out.

Very nice as a stand alone. As a background the options are unlimited.

Love it, Keni. I am really glad these challenges are not contests! 😜

Thanks Jack! I have added it to my background collection. I will find a use for it at some point.

It is abstract enough for me, yet it could make a pretty good background for the right scene. Thanks for sharing.
