I use Topaz Adjust AI or Topaz AI Clear to sharpen my files. Lately I have been using more Adjust AI to sharpen my files.
No complaints here.
I have both Topaz Sharpen AI and DeNoise AI. I have found using DeNoise, clicking AI Clear instead of DeNoise then increasing the sharpen works great. I like the results better than the Sharpen AI
I have a discount code for all Topaz & Luminar4 filters.
Please send me private message if interested.
I share the comments of others who use DeNoise as an LR add-in almost all the time with very satisfactory results, and Sharpen only occasionally.
One thing these Topaz programs have spurred me to do, however, is to upgrade my computer. They work best with a robust video card, and my Dell laptop was struggling. New desktop on order.

My base program PSPro asks when I use Save As... what level of file resolution I want.
One of the webinars the presenter mentioned that he puts the sliders far-right and backs off till the photo looks good and then a tad more, otherwise, the photo may be "overcooked" when saved and reopened. What you see and what you save my differ.
I guess it's your last statement that I'm wondering about. If perhaps I missed something like an "apply" button before saving. The sliders were about in the center. I did move them around a bit. I also tried it on "auto" instead of "manual." I think I need to watch some more videos on it. I have 29 more days in my free trial!
And by the way, on the save screen, it's saving it as I would want. I did learn that apparently I would want to do the Topaz thing first - or at least I thought so!

I have found LR sometimes forgets to update the metadata. You can see the changes in the library module but not develop module. Try updating metadata, if no change, switch to another directory and switch back to the one with your new photo
Hummm. Not sure what you're asking me to do. Here's what happened. When I went back to LR's import, I selected the folder where the new images were and it did find them as "new" images. Not sure what you mean about updating the metadata. I'll have to look into that.

I'm not acquainted with either of those. I'll have to look them up. Thanks!

I am SO not familiar with all of these programs. I think I need to look into them more before jumping in with both feet. And thanks for the offer. If I decide to buy, I'll contact you.

Thanks, Bumps. I'll look into the DeNoise thing. I've always assumed on my images it was camera shake causing the problem plus a lens that doesn't focus very well. I hadn't thought about it being a noise issue except in images shot at high ISO. But I'll look into that.
I think what you’re doing is clicking “save” from the Topaz menu. That adds -sharpen to the file name. I you’re using it as a plug-in don’t do that. Once you are satisfied with the results, look below the sliders and click “Apply”. That will save the changes to the original TIF created by Lightroom and Topaz will automatically close and return you to Lightroom.

Aha! I thought perhaps I was missing something. However, I didn't access Topaz via LR, but opened it directly. I'll look again, but I think the only option is "save." But maybe it's because I'm on the free trial?

I prefer AI Clear with the sharpen box checked as well. The problem with this program is large files don't show in the preview. You can click on Navigator to see a small image below but its not the same as looking at the full preview. Large files are also slow to process.
Still I use it due to the excellent results it provides.
I’ll also say that Sharpenngas worked wonders in some cases, especially when dealing with motion blur, but I use Denoise much more. Usually the sharpening is more than adequate and the denoise capabilities are far superior. I found that sometimes using Sharpen it just sharpens the noise, even with the noise slider pegged to the right.

I have Sharpen AI and have tried Denoise. Honestly, both have proven to be a bit of a crap shoot, especially Sharpen. Even running through comparable images can produce vastly different results. With Denoise, I can’t say too much because I was unimpressed enough with Sharpen to not really give it a challenging workout.

I have had the whole suite of Topaz Labs for about ten years and it is great. One thing you should all remember about Topaz, which no other company out there, offers... Once you buy anything Topaz, you have FREE, yes Free upgrades for life. When ever they come out with a new and improved version, you just automatically get the new upgrade and never pay a penny more.
All other software companied charge you if you want their latest upgraded version each year but Topaz has never charged me a penny in all these years. That alone is well worth the price and the price really is affordably as it is.

Thanks, Joer. I did notice that it seems slow. It was slow to process and REALLY slow to save! (I told my computer guru that I needed more RAM. He didn't believe me!)
