Very basic subject matter, but I didn't feel it needed anything more. The yellow band is a large canola field (canola oil) and the brilliance and depth of the yellow color is not to be believed - it is almost neon in real life, and difficult to capture entirely. Again, Montana in the spring is just amazing!

Sorry but I think it's plain too busy to be simple. Remove everything but the barn, then it would be simple.
It's a pretty good landscape as it is. Even the title "barn_quonset_green_field_2" says it's too busy.

Sorry, John, but I feel that you've taken the soul out of Tommy's image. Your "upgrade" is certainly not "too busy." But compared to Tommy's, it is just too boring, IMHO.

Disagree, the original was a landscape your change is not a landscape, but a shot of the barn.

Depends on your interpretation of "Simplicity" doesn't it? I have seen complex landscapes, take for instance the landscape of New York City from the New Jersey side at dusk, it makes a beautiful landscape, but certainly is not simple, but rather busy with all the various buildings.
