Fantastic shot..! Perhaps you can be of help. I have a Z6 and I have the Nikon 200mm f/4 D-IF macro lens and I can not get it to autofocus on the Z6. Of course I can use it by manually focusing. Does yours autofocus on your Z7..?

No. Manual only.
The 200mm micro does not have an internal focusing motor, it's focus is driven by a screw. Cameras like the D750, D7200, D850 all have an internal motor that drives the screw.
Nikons with autofocus motor in body: D50, D70, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D7xxx, D6xx, D7xx, D8xx, all pro models (D1, D2, D2, D3, D4, Df). Models derived from those (e.g. D300/D300s, D3/D3x, etc.) also have AF motors.

Nikons without AF motors: D40, D60, D3xxx, D5xxx. and the Z 6 & Z7.

I wish they had included it in the Z series, but maybe they wanted to save it for a more professional model. More likely, they want us to but a complete set of new style lenses. Which they don't have yet. For what these cost, I think they should have included a drive motor.
PS: Make sure you have focus highlighting turned on to it'd widest setting. I prefer red.

Thanks, and that helps my mental health for I thought something may have been wrong with the camera, the lens or most likely...me.

Of course I can deal with that as I do other macro lenses that I use and all of my focus stacking work is done manually so I am good to go.
