I'm kind of excited to post this photo but I'm also asking for a little help. Can anybody out there tell me what this car is? I know it's 1940-ish but what make and model? There are no legible emblems either inside or out. The interior is not quite as pristine as the exterior. I have books on the subject of old cars but I can't find this one. Whether you can help or not, I hope you like the picture.

41 Ford.

Thank you all for making this post so much fun. I'm satisfied that it's a '41 Ford. Now I'll be able to sleep a little better.

My guess is a Chrysler product, Possibly a Plymouth or Dodge.

My father had a 41 Ford get it in June of 1941, My mother was about to kill my father for doing it. Their had one child and my mother was due for a second child in a few months. My father told my mother that in 6 months America will be at war, and there will be no cars to have. He also told her that when wars come he will be going. So he want her to have a good car to use during the war. As it turn out my father did not go to war. Bad eyesight. He kept that car until 1946.

Almost certain a β€˜40 Ford, which was my first car in 1954.

These were the last new cars to be made for a LOOOONNGGG time. But who notices, most of teh buyers were in Uniform and riding jeeps, trucks, tanks, ships and boats. The Army Air force and the Navy aviators (including Marines) were on a higher "plane"--just ask 'em!.

The clue that it was pre-war, was the post war editions that looked like this had wood 2x4's as temporary Bumpers to be replaced with the chromed steel ones when materials came available.

Fun finding stuff like this.

It may be a '41 Ford, but your title suits it better. Nice detailed photo.

"Found On Road Dead". Ha, ha, ha, ha. You're a riot. What about "Fix Or Repair Daily"?
I had a '64 Chevrolet Impala that I had to have the engine AND transmission rebuilt at 50K miles. I had a Chevy Nova that I had to put a rebuilt engine in it.
On the other hand, I had a '71 Ford station wagon that I kept for over 20 years and the only time it left me stranded by the side of the road was when I let it run out of gas, which was on me. My daughter was driving it on a winding country road trying to keep up with her boyfriend in a Camaro when she ran it off the road and broke the right A-frame. She was about five miles from home when they decided to try to get it home with that broken leg by driving it backwards. They got about half way home dragging that right front wheel when they were stopped by the cops. If it wasn't for the cops they would have made it. So don't tell me about "Found on road dead". That applies to most GM cars and all Chrysler cars.
I had several Fords over the years and currently have two of them but no more GM or Chrysler cars after that Dodge Monaco I had for a while.
