Friday I drove up to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon to check on the state of Albion Basin, the site of a great wildflower bloom every summer. We still have 2 to 4 weeks because the snow has not melted in the valley crease. I decided to stop on the way down to take some landscape shots (I will post these later).

I then discovered that the remaining snow was yielding a great downhill flow. The conditions were poor because it was mid-day. Many of my water shots were blown out (probably should have had a polarized filter).

The ones that I was able to salvage are attached to give an idea of the results of the continuing thaw.

Downloads are best to see in the shadows.

This is a great series, Mike. I really liked the third one for some reason.

Thank you for those encouraging comments, Bob. The spring thaw gives us such great textures, shadows and colors that the resulting images are very satisfying.

#2 is my favorite (just). Iā€™d like to spend some time there, just listening to the stream & watching the wildlife.

Thanks, Ken, last year a hail storm wiped out the bloom at its peak. Hopefully things are better this year.

These are really beautiful, Mike. Do you ever do the "milky" water thing?
