It has never been posted that the Admin would be judging, it was stated that I would ask the Admin for permission to host a contest as I felt that would be the correct and proper thing to do.

I'm done with this, it seems you have an issue with ME hosting a simple fun contest on this forum that I organized, I'm unsure your reason to feel that this would be an issue. I'm also unsure what I have done to you that would make you question the fact I am able to host such a contest.

So much for Fun.

Here is my last entry. I have done two other ones. This isn't technically my neighborhood. It is a state park near me, about 10 miles away. Presque Isle State Park. It is near where I work. I went there the other day to spend a few hours before work and got some shots. I don't think they measure up to some of the others, but I like them. I hope you enjoy this one. I will post a couple more on another thread. By the way; I'm having fun! Some of these pictures are great!

I have already stated...it was just a question I had.

No need to make it into something it wasn't/isn't.

MWAC, I understand that this was started as a "project" and to get people out taking pictures. A scavenger hunt if you will. I think it is a grand idea and I'm sorry that it has become such a thorn in your side. If you do in fact continue on with the judging, good luck! Because you have some beautiful images to choose from.

:-D

oh my beepin' gosh... there was never a post stating the Admin would be judging this contest. I have stated in this thread more than once that I was going to have a hard time with picking the winner.

This is for FUN, there are NO prizes. If you have an issue with me (cause it seems like you do) judging this contest, just come out and state your reason why I shouldn't be the judge.

I was only asking a question, as I'm fairly sure there was a post stating that the admin was going to judge the first contest.

It was on a different thread, before this one started.

That's it.

When we were discussing the possibility of a contest that was one of the ideas thrown out, but once it was all hashed out with the administrator this was what was decided. MWAC did the leg work so she hosts the first one.

I think the contest is a great idea. One thing that might make it a bit easier for the judge will be to immediately rule out anything that was obviously taken with no respect of the rules. For example some folks clearly document dates up to three years ago. Some folks document this is not my neighborhood but.....

In other regards, I kinda thought I saw something about the admin judging too and have to say it was a bit confusing to understand who would be the judge at the outset. But following along since day one it was made very clear who would judge.

With that being said, good luck to all the photograhers and mostly to the judge who just might have the hardest job of all.

A few shots from around San Diego.

To JKM757 great shots of my home town and area. Its good to see a San Diegan here. I am currently an ex-pat living in San Antonio del mar but of course I am in SD much of the time.

Beautiful downtown shot From Coronado--one of my favorite places to shoot.

Below are my three pictures of an old house that has been restored and is rented out for special occasions.

These are my first pictures with the new Canon 60D and it was certainly a learning experience. All were taken on a tripod. Little was done to them in PhotoPro X4 except to crop and adjust the Histogram.

Hi Fred thanks for your shots in Tustin. I have a technical question for ya. I too just bought a 60D and to my chagrin I found out the CR2 files would not open in PS3 so now I have to up grade to PS5 but am reluctant to spend the money as I am not really enthralled with it. I have never heard of PhotoPro X4. So far I have been using Canons sofware to upload the CR2's the batch pross to 16bit TIFFS then they will open in PS3 but it is a little clumsy. Any suggestions?

You need to download Adobe Raw, I believe you can find it here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5260

Thanks MWAC The link you sent me to says the RAW 6.5 update is not compatible with anything earlier than CS5. I did call Adobe when I got the camera and they had me download an update for CS3 but that did't work either--they weren't sure themselves.

OK, I'll give it try. Hope I can upload pics from my neighborhood. Can't figure out how to upload. I'll do some research and try again.
