Seattle at night. . . went up to Kerry Park to take Seattle skyline pictures . .. but there was a concert and it took 45 minutes to get off of 1-5 using the Mercer Street Exit (thus the tunnel shot) . .. we stopped at the first dinner we could find when we were done to use the "facilities" . . and they had the most fabulous neon!

These are sights from my neck of the woods: New Mexico

1. A patio at an open-air market in Albuquerque lined with hanging chili ristras, a common sight this time of year.

2. The Sandia Mountains, the eastern boundary of the city, dusted with the first snow of the season.

3. One of the red cliffs in Indian Reservation country, to the north and west of Albuquerque.

Taken on Pittsburgh's artistic and drunken South Side. It is very much the people, people like these, who define where I live.

Wow a genuine retro film shooter. Nice stuff. Esp the b&w's. Keeps things interesting.

Only because I see the conversation spread out over several pages I'd like to chime in on the HDR thing in the "photo" contest. I think a photo should be only processed so it still resembles a photo (maybe a levels or saturation adjustment or something that doesn't detract from the intent). My 2 cents worth . . . and we know what that's worth nowadays.

Sorry, I have to disagree. Capturing the complete range of values that the eye can see when you see it and duplicating it with HDR is a legitimate use of the process IMHO.

My entries. Please all comments and critiques are appreciated. My city the great Saint Louis. I love the people, the architrave, the music and most of all my wife and partner sweet Ann. Oh, bye the way, GO CARDINALS!!

I like where you're going with these. Not crazy about the top one but the middle and bottom are interesting. The middle looks like it's missing the full range of values or something, but good. Can you make it pop some more?

It's too bad the comment doesn't include the photo you're commenting on but the technical and artistic aspects of this are, to my mind, excellent. Nicely done.
