This is a fantastic set Dave. Very sharp and those Jewelwings are not easy to photograph mainly because of their habitat. Your bluet is an Argia(Dancer). It's a Blue-ringed Dancer (Argia sedula). Bluets hold their wings along their abdomen whereas dancers hold them just above most of the time. The shoulder stripes of tis species are much brighter than the blue of the terminal segments of his abdomen which shows very well in this excellent shot. So well done!

Wow, I can always count on you for the best info, Doc. I like the idea of a dancer. Makes it sound like it was a miracle to capture an in focus image. I certainly hope you won't be holding a quiz later! Thanks for the expert input. Any ideas about the spider?

Doc tells me that the really colorful damselflies are Ebony Jewelwings (first two images). The other one is a Bluet. Don't know what kind of spider that is but he/she is pretty small. Try the downloads for best viewing of these small critters.

You've got a great shot of a Mabel's Orchard Orb Weaver.
