I graduated from high school in1963. My class was 525 .
Our school had one (1) principle, one (1) vice principle, one dean of student ( he was the discipline), Varsity basketball coach was a math teacher and junior varsity baseball, varsity Baseball was history teacher and junior varsity basketball.
All coach’s were also teacher . And all counselors were also teachers. Teachers double as study hall monitors.
Not now all teachers do are teach. Thank you unions
Nowadays all those position are separate hires , there is a vice principle or two for each class.
That’s were our money goes.
The average teacher salary in 1963 was 6000/year. Inflated to 2020 that is $50,000-
Today the starting teacher get about $39000 and a tenured teacher is 55-60000.
So they work less and get paid more.
Don’t want to hear any teacher complaints.
