Simply, WOW! Beautiful stuff!
Just wow. For technical skill the first one. For telling a story the last one.
Wonderful work, thanks for sharing, Roni!
Thanks for you post - I too have been dabbling with PS for around 20 yrs - been a great experience of having my own darkroom without the chemicals-I use it most for enhancing my images as well as some manipulation/creative images. I am not an expert with PS by any means but somewhat skilled by my years of using it.
Thanks for posting your process Roni. You have very creative ideas for composits. I also checked out Zenfolio and enjoyed your creative compositions.
I've seen you post that you work with Topaz. Do you find their Mask AI to be as good/better than PS select/Mask (or remove background)? I use both and am still experimenting. So glad you found this forum. Bev

While I have been a UHH member for several years, I just found this forum, thanks to Linda for mentioning it in another forum. I have been using ps for about 20 years. I ran a photography meetup with 260 members. Did some teaching/tutoring in ps. I did try to use lightroom when it first came out, but decided I like ps & bridge better.
Here are a few I have done recently.
Thanks for looking.
Process
I used a texture background for #1. I made the ballerina into a silhouette & put the ballerina over the texture. In photoshop, I went to properties. Find this under window>properties, at the bottom>quick action> remove background. It usually does a fairly good job of removing the background. It does create a layer with a mask. Sometimes I have to clean it up a bit. The I positioned the ballerina & flattened the image.
I had done the same thing with the man, put him on a white background, then moved him into the windows. Both the man and the windows were taken in Cuba in January. I co-lead a photo tour to Cuba.
The lady in the plane, same way just put her in the plane. i did have to do some dodging and burning to make it look like the light was coming from the window in the downed plane.
Feel free to ask any questions.

Welcome to this section Roni. Your work is beautiful and exemplary and I look forward to seeing more. You are someone to learn from, thank you!
Phil
Thanks so much for all the kind words.
Nikongal, I don't use Mask AI I use photoshop.
If you open a background image, then put another image with say a flower on top. It you go to the properties panel,(window>properties) and scroll all the way down to *Quick Actions* click on that, and click on *remove background*. It usually does a pretty good job, you might have to fix a bit but it shows up with a layer mask.
Let me know if this works for you.
Thanks again for all the great comments.

Very nice work both conceptually and technically. I have never tried removing the background using the properties panel. I do a good bit of compositing and am always delighted to find new tricks like this.

Thank you Roni, I just used it on an eagle in flight to put a water background behind it, and it worked well. I had to fix a bit between some of the feathers, but overall it did a good job.
I had read that this Property panel had been updated and had a number of new uses, just hadn't put the time into checking it out yet. Appreciate your bringing it to my attention. Bev
minniev & Bev,
So glad it worked for you. It was one of those ha ha moments when I learned how to do this.
I have used it many, many times for some creative images.
That sure is a wonderful image of colorful birds. Love your background idea too. Bev

Hi,
Thanks so much Bev.
I was able to replace the background with one of mine in Luminar 4, I added the moon also in Luminar 4, then added the birds.
I do have a discount for luminar 4. PM me if interested.
