Perhaps you are unaware of the massacre on helpless elderly nursing home residents, most who are on Medicare, by both Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey. When the v***s was heating up, they issued almost identical orders which required nursing homes to accept C****-** patients. The orders even went so far as to bar the homes from even asking if the patients had the v***s.

Trump claimed no responsibility for the p******c and wanted every thing to be left to the states. His administration had conflicting guidelines at his public briefings. The medical experts said one thing, trump said another and they let the states compete with each other for PPE's and ventilators. Also interfered with what states received the supplies based on what was best for Trump politically after deals were made. Mistakes were made early on but what about the republicans that claim the elderly can die for the economy? Would you use the word Massacre for them?
I live on Long Island and am 75 yrs. old with diabetes. My area was hit very hard and there was a shortage of PPE's, beds and equipment. The federal Gov't. failed to lead and still isn't. Except to just open with what is still conflicting guidelines and no leadership.

My case: Very simple ... I wrote no such thing; you made it up. If I wrote such things, all you have to do is cut/paste my words - the ones where I discuss my position on the regime in China.

I care a lot more for what Trump does in the p******c than China.

That is not only a complete deflection, but also a strawman if I ever saw one. You are guessing/suggesting that a massacre will happen if they open up closed businesses again. In NY and NJ's case, the Nursing Home massacre actually did happen, and it happened directly due to directives from the leaders of those two states.

A natural disaster, a world wide p******c, hit earth and derailed the economies around the world--including Canada. And you're seriously trying to blame that on Trump--or any other Nation's leader other than China's Xi Jinping for it?

I'm pretty sure that you are much more intelligent than that, but maybe I'm wrong.

You missed the point of what I said. I never blamed Trump for the p******c, nor even for the collapse of the economy. I was referring to his trashing of all international relationships that the US chose to set up and benefited from via participation over decades. Globalism is a reality, and trying to be an isolationist is foolish. Better to influence the world than withdraw from it.

Trump is not an isolationist by any stretch of the imagination, he just realizes that it absolutely stupid to put your country in a situation where it becomes dependent on competing nations--especially ones which don't necessarily have your best interests at heart. This whole v***s incident proved what he's been saying for well over a decade.

"AMERICA FIRST" "AMERICA FIRST" sounded great when the president yelled it out. The banners waved and people cheered. Well words and deeds have consequences. The president now points to China and claims they withheld information about the C****a V***s while they bought up and stock piled medical equipment for their own use. Maybe they did, I don't know. But think for a moment, to all of those people who cheered "AMERICA FIRST", this is one of the responses from the leadership of another country "CHINA FIRST".

Words have consequences and the words of The President of The United States can have grave consequences.
So you keep cheering when the president tells other nations how bad they are, you keep cheering when the president pulls our country out of treaties he doesn't like, you keep cheering when he insults the leaders of other countries. Yes, you keep cheering, and keep thinking that the president's words and deeds will not have any consequences for the United States.

To all of those people who are about to attack me as unpatriotic or worse ... why don't you try to show me why the thought/the idea/the policy of putting our nation first should not be used by other nations also.
"AMERICA FIRST" "AMERICA FIRST"... (show quote)

I guess that you didn't notice as the middle class was hollowed out in this country and many jobs that supported the middle class life style were exported overseas. You keep cheering on your treaties, I will keep cheering for the expansion of the middle class and for opportunity for all classes of folks in this country, not just the bankers and Wall Street tycoons.

Were you not blaming Trump for making the Chinese harder to deal with?

Since you can’t recall what you posted:

I am holding him responsible for the words he utters. What I am trying to point out is the Presidents words carry a lot of weight and responsibility and can cause unintended consequences ... That is what I am saying.

Don't feel bad, Howard. Most of us understood what you were saying.

LousyWithWords likes to put words in people's mouths that they didn't actually say. And he never really says what he wants to say until about 4 volleys back and forth. It increases his post count.

But don't ever try interpreting his words as to what they might/could imply or you will be called a liar and told to read a book because you refuse to learn, or something silly like that.

After awhile you just learn to tolerate him... and sometimes play with him... but it has to be his rules!
