Looks like you had fun, Keni! Mine are not very creative. You corner the market on that!

Wonderfully creative. Made me smile. Good idea for your camera club to have a weekly incentive.

Thanks Lola! Creativity is a process. You have to find what inspires you. I started out in a totally different direction with this but in the process I saw something that inspired my imagination and this the result. I think sometimes my problem is I stop too soon. I could have gone farther and used cauliflower for earrings and purple pea shells for eyebrows. Just keep playing until you find something that sparks an idea and go with it.

Thanks Bev! Our monthly competitions that get judged make it difficult to do the type of creative post processing that i love doing. These challenges don't have those rules and its fun getting creative with the theme.

I would love to see that, Keni. And thanks for the encouragement.

With the current pandemic situation it can be difficult for many to get out and shoot. My camera club began doing weekly challenges of things we could do in and around the house and we are encourage to be creative. This week's challenge was Food. I did the usual shot of food on a platter in front of the window. I even baked the scones I used in the shot. I enjoyed it but I wanted to do something different and more creative. On a trip to the grocery store I whipped out the cell phone and began taking photos of the produce. I had in mind doing a landscape scene using the broccoli for trees etc. A young gentleman from the store approached me about what I was doing and I tried to explain it was for a photography project but I don't think he was too convinced. I assured him I meant no harm and quickly moved on.

Thanks to the ever vigilant store personnel I didn't get as many shots and varieties of produce as I would have liked and as I started on the project it became evident that it was going to take quite a bit of time to do it right. I was up to over 30 layers and not even half way to where I wanted to be. That was when I decided to create a portrait in produce. I may revisit the landscape idea at some time after a few more trips to the grocery store but this was a lot of fun to create and I completed my challenge. For those interested I have included my orange cranberry scone photo as well. No reshoots. They were delicious!
With the current pandemic situation it can be diff... (show quote)
