When my Lightroom 6 would not display images from my new Sony RX100M7 I decided to make the switch to Capture One Pro for Sony after reading reviews from other Hogg’s. It works with All my Sony cameras without needing an update for a new Sony camera. I’m not into subscriptions that go on forever. I’ve already paid hundreds to Adobe for my 6 copies of Lightroom! So I bought the program at the 25% off sale and just opened it.....Oh My I’ve got a Lot to Learn Again!

Be patient. It I a great piece of software and it will render your Sony files beautifully.

Biggest problem for me was that features that superficially look similar to LR are not.

Second biggest problem is that dng files don’t transfer well. TIFf is ok. Actually, it encourages going back through old RAW files and post processing them again which seemed like a big pain at first but I realized I liked the results better.

Biggest gain was that once learned cataloging and keywords are easier to use.

Close second is that adjustments are somewhat more subtle with protects me from myself.

I made the switch about 2 years ago and would do it again.

Suggest you take advantage of the C1 Learning Hub. Also, bookmark the on line User Manual. A little clunky to use, but through.

It a little bit different than LR and some learning curve but I only use PS now for panos and stacking! Works great with my a6500!

Why? Do you have Lightroom 6 the stand alone version?

No, I subscribe to the Lightroom/Photoshop package and it works amazingly well (and is always up-to-date). I also use Affinity Photo, Luminar 4, Aurora HDR and several other software 'tools'. I just found C1 added nothing to my postprocessing suite and is overpriced for what it does.

Why respond to this post then? I’m discussing my new experience in Lightroom 6 not displaying the images from my new camera. Previous stated I’m not interested in subscription programs. So far I’m blown away at C1 Not over priced and So Superior to Lightroom! In my humble opinion...
