Wish to print 11X14 (very large container ships entering L.A. harbor and Vincent Thomas bridge ove harbor at night). Mostly use Pixma for 8X10. Have no clue about paper supply, and feed into box. Thanks.

The easy way for me is using Lightroom to size the image in the Print module, print it on Canon 13x19 stock and cut it.

Turn printer on if not already on
In Lightroom, crop to 11 X 14
Launch Print Studio Pro (File|Plug In Extras|Canon Print Studio Pro)
Get a cup of coffee (just joking, but be patient - PSP takes a lonnnnng time to launch)
In Print Studio, under Print Settings, choose your paper, profile, and size. You will probably need to use the "Custom" button under Paper Size to get 11X14.
Adjust the border around the print by dragging sides to edge of easel
Print
When done, close PSP and choose another photo to print in LR. You cannot just open another file and if you try to print a second photo from LR without closing PSP, you will get an error message.

I have been using this workflow for a few years now and have consistently gotten great prints on the first try.
It is the only way I have used this printer where I can get satisfactory results. Wish it could be launched standalone instead of as a plugin.

If the question is how to feed the paper, you feed a single sheet at a time from the top of the printer, glossy side forward and adjust the side paper guides. Be sure to set the print controls for the type, size and orientation (landscape) for the particular paper you’re using.

If you’re using a color calibrated workflow, import and use the correct ICC profile for your paper into your post processing program and soft proof.

Make sure to get your portrait and landscape the way you want it; when I have been less than attentive I have found that 11x14 and 14x11 are not interchangeable. Also, many or most paper companies sell 14x11 so cutting may not be needed. (I mostly use Moab and Red River so I am sure about those). As stated by others, you may need to use "custom" to tell your equipment what size you are making.

Why not just print 11 x 17.

I had this question and i call red river and they told me that 11x14 is not a standard size in Japan. So what you do is to go to custom size enter 11x14 and everything is a go.

If you save the resized picture as a .jpg, open it in ps, or pse, and it will start printing much faster. Make sure to save it at the largest file size. You can resize in lightroom, ps, or pse very easily. In ps and pse click edit and choose resize from the dropdown, if memory serves this older mind. When resizing unclick resample. Leave the height and width so they scale when you resize, enter the length of the longest leg of the pic, the other automatically scale. You will be able to see the new true 'DPI' in the resolution window. Keep the printer set on best. 300 dpi is a great target, I find that anything over 180 dpi prints well on that printer.

When I decided a number of years ago to print 11x14 to fit in frames I had bought, I did an online search for paper. After a casual month of reading and looking I ended up buying 11x17" paper from either B&H or Adorama, for the best choice in surfaces and price. Since my picture was longer than the frame shaped opening, I simply preplanned the area I wanted, printed as borderless, and trimmed off the excess.

I used the Page Setup in the Pro-100 Print window to select Format For: Canon Pro-100 series. Then I could select Paper Size: Tabloid (borderless) [11x17"] below that. You may not need borderless if your frame hides enough of the print edges. The paper is feed thru the back of the printer just like the smaller paper, after adjusting the paper guides to the proper width.
I print thru the Setup tab for the Canon Pro-100 print driver. Probably everything else I do is different from the UHH norm, so no point in my writing about picture preparation.

On the MAC photos there is a "custom" setting. There probably is with other pp programs.
