I like all three but 1 & 2 look like they were real balancing acts with the changing light.
I wouldn't crop off part of Mt Adams. The vegetation is more real for me. And, get yourself a light tripod.
Good work.
Thank you kindly. Your time and interest are much appreciated

Thank you for the wonderful thought but I doubt it's possible for me to be wise beyond my years because my years are a very, very large number! And thank you also for your many excellent contributions to UHH.
Much appreciated!

I have tried the "negative clarity" edit on a couple of images since you first mentioned it a while ago! Love the effect, and your judicious use of the technique is really effective. Nice work, ya know?

Thank you, Tommy, how neat to hear. It all started with a topic by fergmark. The best of UHH: sharing ideas and inspiration! Many thanks for your comments.

5:30 a.m. for the moonset! Last time I photographed at that location (2015), I used a tripod. If I buy a new one, will it be less a pain than attempting to wring out the noise from a high ISO photo?

Feedback welcomed!

I like this set very much for a bunch or reasons. First thanks for another reminder that the most rewarding light requires getting up early to meet it. I have been watching this new moon set over the SF Bay for the past two mornings from the bedroom window, me upstairs, camera (and tripod) downstairs and my own lethargy everywhere! So tomorrow I will take a picture of that moon, thanks! The Yakama tribal cemetery photo touches me deeply. Your composition shines a light on a very complex and crowded notion of an "afterlife". It is a very powerful and poignant image Linda, thank you!

I am so gratified to hear that the cemetery photo moved you, Phil. Regarding shooting tomorrow, it'll be interesting to see what you get because the moonset changes by at least 1/2 hour every day. Without double-check timeanddate.com for San Francisco, I suspect you'll have full sunshine before the moon gets anywhere near the bay. Next month!

Thanks for a free pass to stay in bed tomorrow! Diane just reminded me that we saw a waxing moon set over the Marin hills in darkness on Monday. Good reminder about timeanddate.com.

P.S If you use a tripod, think of all the fun you'll miss doing your PP.

For me, and old guy who spent a lot more years during the pre-digital age of photography than during it, PP isn't fun. I just don't like sitting in front of a computer. What I enjoy about landscape photography is getting out in the field and taking pictures while enjoying the scenery and wildlife, and then getting home and viewing the results (even though they aren't always good). And that 60 seconds or so to set up a tripod doesn't detract from the overall pleasant experience. Just the way I see it.
