Going Savanah, GA at the end of month looking for ideas on where to shoot.

Argus...
Savannah is a absolutely wonderful city... Love going there... Where to shoot ???
1) Forsyth Park and The Fountain there is a 'Must'... Get there early to avoid the people walking around and you have better light during morning hours...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at the weblink:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forsyth_Park2) Tybee Island and for sure the Lighthouse.... and consider going there at night... If you want to shoot the lighthouse @ night, you can do that by walking on their grounds in the publice area... BUT, what we did was to go to the local police department earlier during the day.. and told them we would be there around XXX Time at night just incare they got any suspicious calls.... Think ahead
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at the weblink:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Tybee_Island_Light3) Wormsloe Historic Site == This location has a wonderful oak tree lined entrance (see web) and some great history... unfortunately, there is usually a sign in the middle of the road there but it can be 'worked out in post processing'...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at this weblink:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormsloe_Historic_Site4) Angle Oak @ John's Island -- If you should get near Charlotte, N.C. which is slightly over 1 hour away.... and this is 'claimed' to be one of the oldest oak trees east of the Missippiee ?? BUT, beautiful for sure.. Now, I would suggest also getting there early because you will be hindered by people walking in the forground of your photo... so last time, I was the first car to drive in... Also, there are lots of little signs on the ground around the tree telling everyone not to 'climb on the tree' so you will have to also 'work them out in post processing... but a worthy 'GRAND' shot if you can get it.... see below

Look at this weblink:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Oak5) Driftwood Beach @ Jekyll Island - this is about 1.5 hours drive to the south and absolutely worth the visit if you like this kind of shooting... Best time, of course is early morning or late evening... BUT, do duing the daytime to 'scope-out' the location and get an idea of how and what to shoot... We live in Tampa, and never miss a chance to 'stop' there and stay overnight on our way up to Savanna GA... see below
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at this weblink:
https://www.goldenisles.com/listing/driftwood-beach/148/Ending NOTE: There are lots of very beautiful location to shoot in downtown savannah also,,, when you get there, one of the first places you need to go is what is know as "City Market" and 'walk the shops'... In doing this, you will see all the ART which Savanna has to offer, and while looking at the various works, you can chat with the store owners and get an idea where 'stuff was done' ha ha ha..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at this weblink:
http://www.savannahcitymarket.com/After the above, also be sure to go to the Visitor information center which is located near the City Hall, but down one level right on River Street... The host there are so warm and inviting and really eager to answer your questions......... BUT, I would go to the VIC (visitors information center) after you first walk up and down most of the length of 'River Street' which, of course, runs along the River.... There are many, wonder shops there,,, including ART shops, and lots of locations to eat.... Then go to the VIC and ask your question.. This is an activity which you might want to do on your first day there... PS... We love the "Shrimp Factory" or "Spanky's".... don't go to "Bubba Gumps"... you can go to one of those anywhere... ha ha
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at this weblink: Just google "Visitor's Information Center" address is: 1 River Street, Savana, GA
=====================
One last note,,,,, and there are many more suggestions.. ha ha ha....... If you going to Savannah, GA, you absolutely MUST go to... MRS. WILKES DINING ROOM..... Food "Southern Style" with veggies in bowls and meats served on platters - Boarding House Style... and you will sit at a 'Boarding House Style' table with about 6 to 8 other guest while you dine..... BTW... NOT open Sat/Sun -- But is open Monday through Friday, from 11am–2pm.... NOW,,, a Word of Caution.... even though they open at 11, I would get there at their front door at 10AM,,, for I will tell you that people come early,, and it is alway, alway busy... for sure.. see the below

PS......... One More Note.... The Parking Meter Maids there have absolute mercy ... ha ha ha Be careful as to where and when you park.. and Don't violate the Handicap rules there..... they will nail you in a heart beat and they don't care..
Have fun in Savannah GA
