Chamber of Commerce, AAA. I'm sure you can find those sites very helpful.

walk along the river front early in the morning. Any of the squares are great. The city is small and you can walk the entire area in a couple of hours. I hired a photo guide and it was well worth it.

This is like saying...'I'm going to Florence.......'
Savannah is an unbelievable city and place that offers something for anyone interested in people, history, architecture, art, food, and singular landscapes. Buy one of the travel books that you like. We were there for 5 days and wished we had more time. Focus on what you like and plan your trip. Then come back to us with more specific questions and, I'm sure you will get some great feedback.

Go to Google and type in "photographing Savannah" and you will get a multitude of sites showing photo ops. Town squares, Bonaventure Cemetery, Railroad Museum, Waterfront, Wildlife sanctuaries nearby. Eighth Air Force museum. Fort Pulaski near Tybee (currently closed). Wormsloe Plantation is beautiful (admission limited and possible temporary closures during virus).

For wildlife there is Harris Neck NWR just south or Savannah NWR just north. Been to both but it was in January so I don't know what May is like.

That,s nice, don't know how your getting their, my self I would not fly yet and driving for me is out of the question because coming from New York State I have been banned to enter other states. Check to see how much access you will have to places that you want to photograph in. States are starting to open some what, but places like NJ will stay locked down for another month. I have seen on the news that some beaches that were open are now closed due to people not staying 6 feet apart.

This is my list for Savannah: the Pier on Tybee Island, Lighthouse on Tybee Island, Fort Pulaski (currently closed) for the great arches along the sides, the squares in Savannah especially Forsyth Park, homes around Forsyth park, fountain at Forsyth Park, Water Street, Wormsloe Plantation for the row of Live Oaks (don't pay to enter, just shoot from just inside gates), Bonaventure Cemetery, walk through town looking at each square early in the morning...... Savannah is a target rich town for photographers

If you take the trolley around town, it is hop on - hop off, jump off and walk around - pretty much every stop has something.

and Tomotley Plantation, fabulous Live oaks sweeping along the grass area. It's private but you can photo from the perimeter fence.
