I like the color version. I really like that green background.
Both images are great. I prefer the second image. It seems more interesting, to me. The petals have a hint of yellows and green. The colors of the stem and stamen are more pronounced. Together it makes the photo more interesting to me.
Given this type of image choice, I normally gravitate towards the b&w for dramatic impact and interest. However, the subtle colors and feeling of #2 make this my choice between the 2 images. Both lovely, but #2 is the wee-ner!

Both are nice, but in the first one I personally am seeing more detail in the bloom! To each their own.
Good job Bob.
I usually like the B&W but it could use more contrast or lower black level. Little more PP and I would say hands down number 1
My preference is the first one. The colors are somewhat subdued. Therefore, not a very important part of the photograph. The black and white emphasizes the textures which play a more important role in the presentation than those subdued colors.

Those are exactly my thoughts. To make the b&w even better Bob I would suggest adding brightness and contrast to the white areas. To my eyes they are slightly underexposed.
PGHphoto seems to agree with me.
My preference would be for #1 IF it was given a little TLC and PP. It is potentially great but really lacking in contrast and detail.
I can’t believe I like the b/w
#2, I like the contrast with the green.
I really like the B&W version.
