In the past l have started threads that could get ugly but didn't, so again let's keep this one civil. Could the current social isolation be a rehearsal for something far worse? The world is warming and the article regions beginning to thaw. I have seen several articles about the potential for v***ses, etc. that humankind has not seen for millennia being exposed becoming active, this fits with concerns I have about smallpox victims buried in the tundra. Currently most of the world's population hasn't been v******ted setting the stage for a p******c far worse than c****a.
I hope this is being "Chicken Little."

It’s a “rehearsal” only if you believe there is “director” and “producer”.
42,000 dead Americans and counting, pretty much means this is not a rehearsal.
Ask their families.
This is supposed to be a photography forum not a socialist steering forum. Where is the panic about the annual flu deaths that outnumber this by many thousands? I apologize. I get carried away with the "liberal" nonsense.

The c****a v***s can hardly be called “liberal nonsense” .
It can infect Trump supporting Republicans as well as individuals of any other persuasion.
It can even k**l those foreigners across the pond.

Those who talk about the flu seem to be usually conservatives who think this toll is nothing and will go away on its own soon.

Yes, good luck with that one. Tell them to let us know how that works for them.

C****-** deaths in the US have topped 44,000 in a couple months WITH social distancing. The flu has never decimated cruise ships and nursing homes. This is in no way a liberal vs. conservative issue.

“Those” are the i***ts who were listening to Trump in January and February as he ignored the problem, and can not get his denials out of their minds.

Consider that the Country is so divided that there are those who function according to their own set of facts....those who draw, from conspiracy theories, questionable news sources, daily Washington news briefings, and outright lies, what they WANT to believe, rather than what compelling evidence shows us that we should believe.
At a time when the country needs to discover commonality, it seems to have embraced d******eness. Death doesn't belong to a political party.

What part of "Chit Chat (non photography talk)" don't you understand?!

You are right, thousands of deaths is sad. My fears go to other diseases that have been eliminated among the living. Several years ago I began to wonder what would when someone who died from smallpox or other diseases and were buried in an area that froze thawed out and an individual with no immunity encountered them.

A. This is a general chat section, please take note of the section's.
B. Unfortunately we have become desensitized to the deaths from flu. Flu occurs every year, sadly with accompanying deaths. C****a is new, novel, thus we pay more attention to it and its effects..

Oh, so how come the US and Italy were the first two countries to halt air travel to and from China, on the same day in Jan?

Why do conservatives never acknowledge their own "nonsense"? Oh, that's right, they are PERFECT.
