One of the things I like to work with is smoke. It is an abstract to begin with but playing with the image is always fun! You never know how it will turn out and with layers you can go back in and change each layer at any time if you save the layers as a PSD file. The "correct" system.. which I often forget to do, is also to label each layer as to what you did! LOL! Anyway here is a finished piece and a snap shot of some of the things I did to get there. There is a lot of playing around on each layer and the final result is a crop of the original and then mirrored. Thanks again AnnMurray for hosting!

"Abstracts" Here's a Few as a Kick start.

The Photos on the Left Side are Original, the Photos on the Right Side are Abstractions of that Photo.

Isn't it just amazing how much a photo can be changed by playing with it! Good job!

Very nice Pat! You are so right! Hope the wind does not cause issues there! You lost a huge branch just a while back! I bet you have stocked up on water already! I can remember doing that when we lived in the country! We are spoiled now!

This is done in camera. I just set up a large book with pages folded backwards. I placed it in front of my PC monitor and used a red background from one of my photos and turned out the lights to give a better effect. 2nd one is the same setup but with another abstract I had created using a crystal vase. Simple setups.
