Great idea for a challenge, Ann. A year or so ago, I was deep
into "playing" with a lot of my images, and had a lot of fun
doing it...it's been a while, but here's one I just did.

Good Day everyone! I chose abstracts because it is not something I am very good with. Wikipedia... experimental, conceptual, or concrete photography. A means of depicting a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the object world and that has been created through the use of photographic equipment, processes, or materials. Looking forward to seeing what you have to share. I can't seem to find the photo that I wanted to share. Sorry

Hi AnnMurray! Thanks for hosting and being willing to take on something that you enjoy and want to learn more about! Great start and fun abstract. I learned from watching other people’s work and being inspired by them. One of the things I do, still, is to make a new layer each time I want to do something different to a subject and on that new layer, I often just try different settings I.e. I run through the drop down menus above the layers pallet to see what it does to the subject and adjust opacity and perhaps hue and saturation, etc. The great thing about it is you can easily delete the layer if you don’t like it and make another layer and try something else. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what the members post and hopefully share some of their secrets of editing! Cheers! Sharon/Clicker2014!

Beautiful image Rolk! Did you use "liquify" as part of the process?

Thanks so much for posting. I do like abstracts . Expecting very high winds in excess of 60 MPH later, so I am going to try and do all my computer work before the anticipated loss of internet and power. I'll be back.

One of the things I like to work with is smoke. It is an abstract to begin with but playing with the image is always fun! You never know how it will turn out and with layers you can go back in and change each layer at any time if you save the layers as a PSD file. The "correct" system.. which I often forget to do, is also to label each layer as to what you did! LOL! Anyway here is a finished piece and a snap shot of some of the things I did to get there. There is a lot of playing around on each layer and the final result is a crop of the original and then mirrored. Thanks again AnnMurray for hosting!

Looks good to me. Just wave your camera around while hitting the shutter.
